Last week, Madonna was found unresponsive in her apartment in New York and was immediately rushed to a hospital where she was admitted to the ICU. However, her condition was kept under wraps for several days which has led many of her fans to believe that the Queen of Pop might have been diagnosed with cancer.
Anthony Ciccone, Madonna’s brother, passed away in April after his health deteriorated due to complications caused by throat cancer. According to TMZ, Madonna was taking care of his bills and had him admitted to a prestigious hospital in Michigan but, unfortunately, he did not make it. As a result, her fans now think that she might be going through the same.
On June 24, the 64-year-old American singer was found unresponsive and had to be intubated for at least one night at a hospital in New York City. After this information was made public, people on social media were quick to express their concerns about her health. Despite this, her manager, Guy Oseary, immediately released a statement to address what happened:
“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several-day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.”
As of today, no more information has been given in regard to Madonna’s health condition which has led to many of her fans speculating about what could have happened. Although the updates in regard to her status have been mostly positive, there are people that think she might have been diagnosed with cancer due to her family’s story. Fortunately, she was discharged from the hospital on June 29 so a full recovery is expected.
