King Charles III became a trending topic after the British media was able to capture a heartbreaking photo where he can be seen crying in a horse racing event that was held in the United Kingdom earlier this week. Although it is widely known that the members of the Royal Family try to not show their emotions in public, Charles could not hold back his tears.
The Royal Ascot has been a tradition for the British royalty since 1711 and it is common for different members of the Royal Family to actively participate in it. In this year’s event, the current sovereign of the United Kingdom was caught off guard after his horse Desert Hero took the number one place on the third day of racing.
After his horse won, he could not help but feel nostalgic and cry inconsolably as he inherited Desert Hero from the late Queen Elizabeth II. It has also been reported that this particular horse was Elizatbeth’s favorite one so it is safe to assume that Charles was deeply moved watching his mother’s favorite horse win a race.
Although King Charles III did not want to talk with the media, his niece Zara Tindall commented on what happened: “It’s bittersweet, isn’t it? I think how proud and excited our grandmother, the Queen, would have been. But to have a winner for Charles and Camilla, and keep that dream alive, was incredible, what a race!”
After the photos were posted on social media, royal followers did not hesitate to send emotional and support messages to King Charles III and congratulated him for this huge achievement.
