Marvel’s new series, ‘Secret Invasion’, has become the worst streaming series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe of all time, with just one week left till its premiere on Disney Plus, it has already been given a 69% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the movies and series ranking website. The series has been available for a short period since its premiere in Los Angeles, gathering just 42 reviews for the first two episodes out of the six that make up the series.
Although it’s too early to see what the final rating will be on Rotten Tomatoes, movies and TV series need a percentage of positive reviews higher than 60% to be considered “fresh” and not “rotten.” With the current score, it becomes the lowest-rated series on Disney Plus within the Marvel Universe.
The previous lowest-rated series was She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, which scored 80% on the website and received harsh criticism for its “feminist” inclusion. The first Marvel and Disney Plus series, ‘WandaVision’, obtained a 91% rating, followed by ‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ with 84%, ‘Loki’ with 92%, ‘What If?’ with 94%, ‘Hawkeye’ with 92%, ‘Moon Knight’ with 86%, and finally ‘Ms. Marvel’, which scored 96%.
Many fans of this cinematic universe criticized the first two episodes of Marvel’s Secret Invasion for being overly slow and mediocre, accusing the series of misleading the image they have been selling to their followers. However, this does not mean that the series cannot take a hopeful turn and end on a high note, similar to the case of the series ‘Andor,’ or the Star Wars series, which started as a total fiasco but ended up being acclaimed as one of the best in the entire franchise over its 12 episodes.
