King Charles III and Queen Camilla were crowned as the new sovereigns of the United Kingdom on May 6. A few weeks later, it can be said that the royal couple’s reign is off to a good start and it looks like their popularity is increasing, on top of that, it was recently revealed that Charles has appointed Camilla to the highest honor in Scotland, which gives her more power inside the monarchy.
Although their marriage has been subjected to constant criticism and backlash over the years, King Charles III is not afraid of demonstrating his unconditional love for Camilla Parker. That is why, on June 16, Charles decided to appoint Camilla to the highest honor that exists within Scotland, ‘Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle.’
The Most Ancient and Most Noble Order was revived by King James VII in 1687 and it currently has a complement of 16 Knights. According to the announcement on the royal family’s website, the Order is “the highest honor in the country and recognizes Scottish men and women who have held public office or who have contributed in a particular way to national life.”
After King Charles III’s nice gesture, it can be said that Queen Camilla is quickly becoming one of the most influential members of the Royal Family. In addition, some royal experts believe that this new honor will help her gain more relevance in Scotland and receive more support from the Scottish people.
