Demi Lovato has repeatedly been in compromising situations that have unsettled the public due to controversy. A few years ago, the talented artist Demi Lovato revealed to the cameras that she felt identified with them, alluding to inclusive language as part of her daily life, but now, she has apparently resigned.
The artist goes back to identifying as a woman and asks to stop calling her with a neutral pronoun, but not exactly because she wants to.
In a new interview with GQ Hype Spain, Demi Lovato opened up about how she no longer wants to be called “Elle” and talked about her desire for a more comfortable world for those who identify with a neutral gender. In her conversation with the medium she revealed that “I was constantly having to explain to people why I was using those neutral pronouns. It was absolutely exhausting.”
“It also happens when I had to fill out forms, like government documents and reports where you have to specify gender, and there are only two options male and female, so nothing made sense to me.” She also added that every day she faces some kind of discrimination about her non-binary orientation when she chooses to enter public restrooms, which only identify women and men.
“I am ultimately conditioned to choose to be called as a woman, because there is no more to be done. I think this should change, and I wish that over time there would be more options.” With her thoughtful message, Demi Lovato can inspire millions of people who, like her, feel the same way, leading them to make the change they long for.
