A little after a month the ASTRO member Moonbin passed away, fans and idols close to the late artist are still mourning his departure, while others are inquiring into the cause of death disrespecting the wishes of his family, such as his mother, who has implored the media not to create false news about her son.
Through a letter published by Fantagio the group’s agency on June 14th, Moonbin’s mother addressed fans, netizens, and media around the world. In her statement, in addition to expressing her gratitude to those who have supported her, she also implored respect, due to unsubstantiated rumors that exist in online communities that speculated about the death of the idol.
“Hello this is Moonbin’s mom
First, I received a lot of comfort from the sincerity of the fans who, even though it was a long distance to travel, they visited (Moonbin’s memorials), wrote touching letters and brought flowers. I sincerely thank you. I hope all the fans find solace as well and stay in good health.
The reason I ended up writing this letter is that even though I know everyone is honoring and mourning my son, I have seen unsubstantiated rumors have surfaced in online communities.
These kinds of rumors are hard for me as a mom to watch. I am also concerned that many people will be hurt by these false speculations, and that fans who have been grieving my son suffer distress.
I do not want my son to become the fodder for gossip, and I implore the media not to start any more rumors or spread unconfirmed facts. I don’t want the fans whom Bin loved so much to live with a broken heart. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your sincerity“, said Moonbin’s mom.
