Amy Schumer, was one of the candidates to portray the iconic Barbie doll in her movie that will be released in the summer of 2023, but she resigned, and it was only in an interview where she explained the reasons for her controversial decision.

During the program Live with Andy Cohen she revealed that she felt that there were many creative differences between her and the directors at that time for the role of Barbie, she also felt that the original script was not feminist at all, assuring that the best thing that happened to the film was the arrival of Greta Gerwing as director.
