Johnny Depp has received $1 million from his ex-wife, Amber Heard, as part of the settlement for the defamation case. Although there was a lot of speculation about how he was going to use the money, it has finally been revealed what he will do with it.
A year has passed since the controversial Depp v. Heard’s trial came to an end and it was recently revealed that Johnny finally received the settlement from the case. The original amount was expected to exceed $10 million but both of them reached an agreement in which Heard had to pay only $1 million.
Since the beginning, the American actor has been pretty straightforward and revealed that he will not keep the money. Instead, he plans to donate the money to five charities which will each receive $200,000: Make-A-Film Foundation, The Painted Turtle, Red Feather, Tetiaroa Society, and Amazonia Fund Alliance.
Johnny Depp’s actions are clearly in line with his previous comments regarding the lawsuit as he had previously stated that the lawsuit was never about money and that he only saw it as an opportunity to clear up his reputation after it was highly damaged following the accusations that Amber Heard made against him.
