King Felipe VI of Spain has once again put his marriage at risk, after having made a dangerous decision that Queen Letizia does not support since this wish of her husband could considerably harm the image of the Spanish crown.
According to a recent report by ‘El Nacional de Cataluña‘, the current monarch wants his father, King Emeritus Juan Carlos I, to live in Spain again, in the case that Alberto Núñez Feijóo obtains the presidency of the country.
However, this decision for his father to return could cause new conflicts in his marriage, because his wife opposes his father-in-law returning to live in Zarzuela, and it could even create problems in the country on the part of the population that do not agree with that decision.
Among the reasons for Queen Letizia are the corruption scandals that the King Emeritus experienced during his reign and that were the reason for his departure. The Queen considers that the presence of his father-in-law would bring more conflict to the current political problem the country is experiencing.
For its part, the Spanish Congress also shared the consequences that could result if the former king returns to live in Spain. However, the wish of his son and the current king is that his father spend his last years of life in the country where he grew up.
Although it is a fact that King Juan Carlos is going through various health problems that require treatment and care, the Queen has made clear the problems that will arise in their marriage if King Felipe VI allows his father to return to Spain.
