Millions of people all over the world are going to witness in just a few days what will easily become the biggest ceremony since King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s coronation. The Trooping the Colour parade is held every year to celebrate the British sovereign’s official birthday so here is everything you need to know about Charles’ version of the parade.
The Trooping the Colour parade has been celebrated since the 1740s with King George II and the tradition has continued to this day. It will include almost 1500 King’s Guards, over 300 horses, and more than 400 musicians that will be gathered at the Horse Guards Parade.
A few weeks ago, it was announced that King Charles III will indeed celebrate his birthday two times a year. First, he will celebrate his official birthday every year on the third Saturday of June, which this year falls on the 17th and then, he will also celebrate his real birthday on November 14.
The ceremony will begin with Charles traveling from Buckingham Palace to the Horse Guards Parade in a carriage. Upon returning to the palace, he will join other royal members on the main balcony to watch the Royal Air Force flypast, a moment which all the British media will for sure try to capture on camera.
