RM’s nostalgic letter celebrating BTS’ 10th anniversary

RM, the leader of the K-Pop group BTS, also joined the septet’s 10th debut anniversary celebration on June 13th by sharing a nostalgic letter on Weverse with a message of pride and appreciation to his groupmates, as well as also for his fans who have always accompanied and supported them.

“They said that 10 years can change mountains or rivers, and it is true. There were countless ups and downs. There were many sunrises that I don’t even remember anymore. I am a different person at 30 than I was at 20. Now, I find that my past self it is even more unknown.

It is something so special, to feel like you have been fascinated by words. ‘Until a noun has become a pronoun. Until Bulletproof becomes BTS, Army becomes ARMY… There was a lot of wind, rain and love. Perhaps, we have built our own world, one that no one can understand.

Thanks to ARMY and the many people who have helped us, we were able to experience something special, which we will never be able to experience again. Looking back, even as I sink into the memory, I have gotten used to going through many doors without a break. Even now, I am still trying to guess our second chapter. It feels like we will be able to become anything. The worries that I had when I was 17 and 20 years old, as well as the double side of things, still stand.

As I have slowly become an adult, I have learned that there are many things in the world that cannot be explained in words or writing. And, that things that seem like they will never change, someday they will. Also, that the birth of a single ‘name’ needs the love and strength of so many people.

I am still pretty inadequate. Perhaps even in the future, things will continue to feel unfamiliar, unsafe, and even painful. But I will try to improve. Together but apart, far but close. I hope I have all of you, and that all of you have me too. Members, staff, family and friends! And ARMY! You all have worked very hard.

Let’s live well together, also in the next 10 years. In this damn world! I love you.
