For the very first time, Prince William has been able to surpass his wife, Kate Middleton. According to a recent survey, the future monarch of the United Kingdom has become the second most popular royal member of the Royal Family both in the United Kingdom and on a global scale, ending the reign of the Princess of Wales.
Even since she married William, Kate has stayed near the top of the most popular members of the Royal Family. However, she has recently been surpassed by the late Queen Elizabeth II for obvious reasons and, for the first time, by the Prince of Wales.
The survey was conducted by Michael Ashcroft, former chairman of the British Conservative Party. Some of the questions sought to measure the respondent’s favorability towards several members of the Royal Family and their opinion about the British crown.
According to the results, Prince William has gained a historical advantage over Kate Middleton, who is now in third place tied to Princess Anne. Despite this, many British people still believe Kate Middleton is the most beloved member of the royal family due to her kindness and charming attitude.
Although the survey places William ahead of Kate, she could reclaim her spot in just a matter of months as she continues to catch the attention of a large portion of the British people, particularly the youngest generations, with her constant charity work and closeness to the general public.
