Jennie, the famous member of the K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK, became a trend on social networks after making her long-awaited acting debut in the HBO series ‘The Idol‘ at the renowned Cannes film festival, however many of her fans are angry because of her performance in this project.
Although some fans have been happy and proud to see a K-Pop idol playing a role in a series alongside big names in the industry like The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, many others are even offended for the way Jennie acted in the production.
Sensual or indecent? Netizens debate on the networks in the new controversy that broke out on social platforms after her appearance in the second chapter of the series broadcast on HBO that began airing on June 4th of this year.
It was precisely a scene in which the idol is seen performing sensual dances, which caused discussions in the artist’s fandom, so much so that some of them even said that they wanted to sabotage the series and its next chapters with the intention of protecting the singer.

However, it was the same member of BLACKPINK who initially made the decision to appear in the series that premiered on HBO, knowing that it could be a bit controversial since there would be risky and explicit scenes.
It is believed that the singer wanted to show a more sensual and free facet of herself to her followers and although it was her own decision, some fans still do not accept it and dislike her new acting project.
