Dua Lipa wins first trial victory after being sued for plagiarism

No one can deny the resounding success that Dua Lipa has, being one of the sensations of music and entertainment. Now, her name has been involved in a plagiarism controversy from which she has already emerged victorious.

The successful singer was sued for alleged plagiarism for her song Levitating, since, apparently, Artikal Sound System, claims that one of her songs had been plagiarized by the singer’s production team.

Artikal Sound System, claims that the artist has committed plagiarism of his song ‘Live Your Life’, ensuring that one of the most successful songs of Dua Lipa, was a total copy.

Although the lawsuit was made and went to trial, the victory went to Dua Lipa and her team, since a judge in the United States would not have found similarities and sufficient evidence to decree that the song was plagiarism.

One of the reasons the band pointed out in the trial that one of the songwriters of ‘Levitating’ previously collaborated with a woman who had learned guitar lessons with one of the members of the group Artikal and there was the relationship between the band and the singer, quickly the judge did not consider this as evidence.

It is already known that in the world of music there will always be similarities of rhythm, so it is possibly not the first time that Dua Lipa is involved in a scandal of this type, what is certain is that she started well, coming out victorious.
