Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave up on their royal titles in 2020 and moved to the United States to live a calmer life away from all the controversies. Since then, they have built a beautiful family with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Last week, Lilibet celebrated her second birthday and the couple might have thrown an American-style birthday party for her.
Jennie Bond, an English journalist, and presenter, recently gave an interview to OK! Magazine and discussed the controversial family’s new life in America and Lilibet’s birthday party. According to her, the couple might have chosen to distance themselves from the British-style celebrations they used to have while being part of the royal family
“It was her first birthday in what is, of course, her home country, the United States. Last year the family were at Frogmore Cottage where they stayed during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. They held a small party in the garden there. This year was with no doubt an all American affair at their Montecito mansion in the Californian sunshine. I guess there was a sprinkling of celebrities and a laid-back party, which hopefully included some other toddlers.”
On top of that, Bond also mentioned that the celebration could have included a video call with King Charles III since no one from the royal family attended the celebration. Despite this, she also thinks that Charles did not forget about the special day and sent her a gift. Although no photos from the party have been released yet, it is clear that Princess Lilibet’s second birthday was unforgettable.
