Prince Harry‘s declarations in his memoir, Spare, continue to be the source of several controversies even months after they were made public. This time, The Heritage Foundation decided to sue the U.S. government due to the way Harry’s visa application process was handled since he confessed to using drugs in the past and he should not have been allowed to stay in America.
The American conservative institution filed a complaint to demand that the Department of Homeland Security release the Duke of Sussex’s immigration file. According to them, the public deserves to know how Harry managed to obtain a residency permit given he publicly admitted to using cocaine, cannabis, and hallucinogenic mushrooms in the past.
“Widespread and continuous media coverage has surfaced the question of whether DHS properly admitted the Duke of Sussex in light of the fact that he has publicly admitted to the essential elements of a number of drug offenses in both the United States and abroad. The law generally renders such a person inadmissible for entry into the country.”
Although Prince Harry said that drugs were his coping mechanism after Princess Diana’s tragic accident, members of the foundation believe that he should have been treated like everyone else instead of giving him special treatment due to his status. The case will be held in front of a federal judge on June 6 at a District Court for the District of Columbia.
