The late Princess Diana continues to be one of the most beloved and influential figures of the royal family. As a result, it is not surprising that several celebrities and businesspeople are interested in getting their hands on the custom-designed jewelry which used to belong to her and they will finally have the chance to do it as a piece of her collection will go up for auction in the United States later this month.
Before her tragic accident, Diana was famous for her kindness, and beauty and for having an exclusive and marvelous collection of jewels designed just for her. The most well-known pieces are definitely a necklace and a pair of earrings nicknamed “Swan Lake Suite” which will be auctioned by Guernsey’s auction house on June 27 at the Pierre Hotel in New York City.
In 1997, the luxury jewelry house Garrard created the famous set for Diana and it got its name after she attended a ballet performance of the ‘Swan Lake’ at the Royal Albert Hall using the jewels. However, she had to return the earrings as Garrard still had to work on them and unfortunately, they were not able to finish before the accident.
The necklace has 178 diamonds and 5 pearls and the pair of earrings have 36 diamonds and 2 pearls. According to this information, it is estimated that the set could be auctioned for almost $15,000,000 and it has been revealed that part of the profits from the auction will be donated to the reconstruction of Ukraine.
