BLACKPINK’s Jisoo was recently diagnosed with COVID-19 after having undergone a control test in the middle of the Born Pink World Tour. The girl group is currently finishing the Asian leg and has two dates scheduled for June 3 and June 4 in Japan. However, the singer won’t be able to perform on those dates.
YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK’s management agency, released a statement confirming that the South Korean idol tested positive for COVID-19 in her most recent test:
“Hello, This is YG Entertainment. We would like to inform you that BLACKPINK member JISOO was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on June 1st. JISOO took a self-test on May 30 after showing mild cold symptoms. At first, she initially tested negative but ultimately tested positive on June 1st.”
On top of that, the agency assured that she wanted to perform in Osaka but for her and everyone’s safety, she won’t be able to do it:
“JISOO was determined to perform, wanting to keep her promise with BLACKPINK fans who have been waiting for a long time, but decided not to participate in the concert for the artist’s health and the safety of all. Therefore, only three members, JENNIE, LISA, and ROSÉ, will participate in the [BORN PINK] World Tour concerts held in Osaka, Japan on June 3rd and 4th. We understand the anticipation and how much fans have been waiting for the performance and will do our best to present the concert as planned. We kindly ask for your strong support.”
After the news broke, the fans of the group, the so-called BLINKS, immediately expressed their support and well wishes for Jisoo on social media. Although some of them were disappointed, they understand that her health is more important.
