Prince Harry’s current residency status in the United States might be at risk after a federal judge could order the government to check the file of his visa application. Earlier this year, Harry admitted in his memoir, Spare, to using illicit substances which is completely forbidden if you want to request an American visa.
A few weeks ago, the Heritage Foundation filed a complaint citing the Freedom of Information Act as they want the United States government to release the Duke of Sussex’s immigration file. According to them, the information in regard to his residency status is “of immense public interest.”
If Prince Harry really consumed drugs when he was younger, he was supposed to disclose that information to the immigration authorities during his visa application process and his visa should have been denied because of that. However, that was not the case.
“Widespread and continuous media coverage has surfaced the question of whether DHS [Department of Homeland Security] properly admitted the Duke of Sussex in light of the fact that he has publicly admitted to the essential elements of a number of drug offenses in both the United States and abroad”
On June 6, the court hearings in the case of the Heritage Foundation against the Department of Homeland Security will being in a DC Federal Court and although Prince Harry is not involved yet, his residency status could be at risk according to the final verdict.
