Prince William used a “false name” to avoid detection and to avoid drawing attention, making it impossible for him to be recognized in public. The eldest son of King Charles III created a moniker that was extremely popular while he was a student at the University of St. Andrews in order to conceal his true identity.
It is now known that Prince William attempted to conceal his identity from those with whom he was studying at the University of St Andrews. Prince William used a false name to sneak around and avoid being noticed. It is also important to note that this is where he met the love of his life, Kate Middleton.
Because of all the stories and conflicts that have surfaced about him, Prince William is more aware than anybody of how difficult it can be to deal with the societal pressure that comes with being a public person. But things weren’t always like that, and thanks to the fictitious identity he then used to identify himself, Prince William at least managed to lead a normal college life away from all of this.
The prince reportedly elected to go by the fictitious name “Steve,” which is both popular and extremely normal, according to reports from the “Mirror” newspaper. The prince officially enrolled at the institution under the name William Wales, but it’s thought that his classmates and even his ex-girlfriend Kate Middleton played along and called him Steve to avoid attracting unwelcome attention from the media and other parties.
