Meghan Markle was recently honored for being an exemplary woman at the Ms. Foundation’s Women of Vision Awards which were celebrated in New York on May 16. She attended the ceremony with Prince Harry and while she was being honored, she decided to pay homage to her mother, who was also there, and the late Princess Diana.
The Duchess of Sussex is recognized for uplifting women and encouraging them to be the better version of themselves so it is not surprising that she received this award. During her acceptance speech, Meghan got emotional and revealed how her mother taught her to be a feminist.
In addition, some attendees and royal followers noticed that she might have paid homage to Diana as well. Meghan Markle wore an elegant golden dress from Colombian designer Johanna Ortiz. She also used a pair of heels from Tom Ford and a Cartier bracelet which allegedly used to belong to Princess Diana and she used it to honor her memory.
This is not the first time that the Duchess of Sussex has paid homage to her mother-in-law. Since marrying Harry, she has made sure to let people know that Diana is a huge influence in her life.
