Kate Middleton’s mother, Carole Middleton, has made the decision to list the family confectionery and party supply company, Party Pieces, for sale. This company’s history has influenced the development of the Middletons as a whole, and it was in part because of the income from this business that Kate Middleton was able to meet Prince William, as it was the primary financier of his studies at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, where the Prince and Princess of Wales attended.

The Middleton family business, Party Pieces, had previously reported high losses, so perhaps Carole and her husband would have incurred a tremendous debt; this could be one of the reasons why Kate’s mother has made this decision. As a result, Kate Middleton bids farewell to this significant family business that assisted her in meeting Prince William.
