The new monarch of the United Kingdom, King Charles III, has started a new controversy because he does not want to move to Buckingham Palace, as the nation’s laws establish he has to do after becoming the official king. The head of state has many reasons to explain why he does not want to live in the historic palace.
On May 6th, the official coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla Parker was held, so all the British media and royal specialists are very attentive to every step of the new monarchs. For that reason, the fact that the son of the late Queen Elizabeth has not moved to the palace has been a trending topic.

The editor-in-chief, Ingrid Seward, of the British magazine ‘Majesty‘, assured in an interview with The Times that the King refuses to make Bukingham Palace his main residence because “it does not fit with his style“, due to the historic place is too big and impersonal for his own tastes.
“Buckingham Palace is so big and impersonal and red, with red carpets and red curtains. It does not fit with his style“.
The possible decision of the 74-year-old king has caused controversy among the British people because English tradition dictates that the monarch must take the renowned palace as his main residence and the place of his different meetings with the Prime Minister of the nation.
“Maybe in the end he has to move, but I don’t think he wants to“, said the author of several royal biographies of the British monarchy.
“He may decide that the palace should be available to the public all year“, Seward added.
