King Felipe VI seems to be in disagreement with his wife, Queen Letizia, because she supposedly does not want any of his family members to live in the palace of Zarzuela. However, the monarch of Spain opposes to evict a woman he loves from his home, despite the problems that cause him problems in his marriage.
After all the controversies and scandals about corruption the Spanish royal family went through, Queen Letizia has taken this drastic measure to protect their family and their legacy, the reign of her husband, King Felipe VI, the heir to the throne, Princess Leonor, and Princess Sofia.

For this reason, Letizia does not want any of her husband’s family members to live in Zarzuela, but the mother of the monarch, Queen Sofia, and her sister, Irene of Greece, are currently living in the royal house, and the King is supposedly not willing to separate them.
Irene of Greece, also known as ‘Aunt Pecu‘, is one of the most beloved members of Spanish royalty. She has been in many important circumstances, such as the infidelity of the emeritus King Juan Carlos, when Queen Sofia decided not to sleep in the same room as him. Since then, the sisters have lived together in the same room.
These reasons might explain why King Felipe VI does not want his aunt to leave Zarzuela, and no matter the good intentions of his wife, he opposes to evict his family to live in the palace.
