After being pressed about Johnny Depp’s comeback to the big screen, Brie Larson had an awkward moment in which she admitted she doesn’t know if she will see the Cannes premiere of Johnny Depp’s movie. Many of the audience members claimed that Brie Larson had discomfort after implicitly rejecting the actor.
When asked if she would watch Johnny Depp’s film “Jeanne du Barry” after being a vocal proponent of the #MeToo movement, the Captain Marvel interpreter displayed body language that many experts characterized as uneasy and anxious.
Brie Larson responded to the controversial question with another unknown, with the clear intention of deflecting the issue.
“You’re asking me that? I’m sorry, I don’t understand the correlation, or why me specifically.” After being cornered by the public’s insistence, she decided to answer: “I’ll see, I guess, if I see it. And I don’t know how I’ll feel if I do.”
After a protracted trial over abuse claims made by his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, the Cannes director, Thierry Fremaux, defended the position and the choice made about the contentious actor. He claimed that Depp is an exceptional actor in the movie and that the trial wasn’t given much weight.
