Prince William is next in the line of succession to the British throne after King Charles III and Queen Camilla were crowned as the new monarchs of the United Kingdom on May 6 at Westminster Abbey.
Although his reign is still a few years away, William is allegedly already thinking about the future of the royal family under his power. It is being reported that he and Kate Middleton are looking for ways to leave behind some of the most old-fashioned traditions to make the monarchy more appealing to the younger generations.
According to the Daily Mail, the Prince of Wales wants a different kind of monarchy, a more modern one where the British people feel more represented. He also wants his coronation to be different from the one King Charles III had a few days ago. A close source to the Prince discussed the matter with the Sunday Times:
“There is no way he will go down that route or anything like it. He is mindful of the fact that in 20 years time, or whenever his time comes, how can the coronation be modern but also unifying to the nation and the Commonwealth? I think his coronation will look and feel quite different.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton are still one of the most beloved figures of the royal family so it is safe to say that they will have a lot of support once they become the King and Queen of the United Kingdom.
