Kate Middleton paid homage to the late Princess Diana at King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s coronation. The symbolic gesture serves as a reminder that Diana is still in the British people’s hearts and she will always be one of the most beloved royal figures of all time.
The anticipated ceremony was carried out on May 6 at Westminster Abbey and the Princess of Wales surprised everyone with her ivory Alexander McQueen dress. According to the Daily Mail, the ivory silk crepe gown features silver bullion and thread work embroidery featuring rose, thistle, daffodil, and shamrock motifs to represent each of the four nations.
On top of that, the international and British media also noticed that Kate Middleton was wearing the earrings that she inherited from Princess Diana. The earrings have pearls and diamonds and Diana herself wore them on several occasions because they were her favorite pair.
It is safe to assume that everyone, including Queen Camilla, noticed Kate’s gesture and it is clear evidence that Diana is still remembered by the British people. In addition, she also paid homage to the late Queen Elizabeth II, she wore a necklace that George VI gave to Elizabeth as a present a couple of decades ago.
