King Charles III and Camilla Parker’s coronation will take place this weekend and most of the details regarding the historic ceremony have been revealed. However, there is the possibility that the ceremony will be boycotted by an Australian aristocrat who has royal blood.
A few weeks ago, the Coronation Claims Office confirmed the 13 pairs and organizations whose applications were accepted after demonstrating that they had a historical and hereditary right to attend King Charles III’s coronation. One of them is Abney-Hastings who is the 15th Earl of Loudoun and resides in Australia.
According to The Telegraph, historian Michael Jones discovered 20 years ago a document in Rouen’s Cathedral that demonstrated that King Edward IV was not the legitimate heir to the throne. Richard, the Duke of York, could not have fathered him because he was away during the possible conception.
Abney comes from the Dukes of York, so he earned the right to attend the ceremony. However, it is said that the aristocrat wants to claim what belonged to his ancestors. The late Edward IV was the king of the United Kingdom from 1461 until 1470, and then again from 1471 until his death in 1483. He was the first king from the House of York, where King Charles III’s family descends from.
Several royal experts are currently analyzing the relationship between the Australian aristocrat and the royal family, and what kind of measures he could take in order to boycott King Charles III’s coronation.
