Every big event is full of controversies and interesting moments, and the Met Gala 2023 can not be the exception of this rule. Besides surprising the spectators with the incredibly outfits of every celebrity who walk through the famous carpet, there was a little living being who took all the attention.
In the middle of great appearances like Jared Leto dress as the cat Choupette and Rihanna showing her pregnant belly with a dress in homage to Karl Lagerfeld, a cockroach stole the show going up the stairs and taking the attention from all the photographers and the media oulets.

As expected the social media take this hilarious appearance to make fun of the event and make memes about the insect taking the Met Gala 2023. For his part, Variety decided to emphisize the moment taking photos of the cockroach like it was modeling.

However, some other netizens criticized the organization of the event claiming that the cockroach appearance was totally disgusting and unhygienic. As well as many of those present show their discontent and discomfort with the surprise cockroach in the event of such magnitude.
On the other hand, it is common to see insects like this when the host city is New York in which is absolutely normal to see this type of plagues in the streets due to the huge system of sewers around the whole city.
