One of the most contentious members of the Spanish royal family and father of the current King Felipe VI is Spain’s King Emeritus Juan Carlos I, who is still revealing dark secrets from his history. And now, the name of a purported unrecognized daughter that the former king allegedly had outside of his marriage to Queen Sofia has been made public. While this is totally unethical for a member of the royal family, Juan claims that it did occur, and this is his account of what happened.

The renowned journalists José Mara Olmo and David Fernández have revealed information about the alleged younger sister of King Felipe and the Infantas Elena and Cristina, the result of an extramarital relationship the King emeritus had in the 1970s, in their book “Corp. El imperio nunca contado de Juan Carlos I” (Libros del K.O.), which goes on sale on May 8.

KingThese stories have been around for a while, but no sources have been offered to support the theory. However, now that three significant pieces of evidence have been presented, they confirm that the former Spanish monarch had an illegitimate daughter when he was married to Queen Sofia.

After the births of the Infanta Elena, the Infanta Cristina, and King Felipe, Juan Carlos I would have had a third daughter as the result of an adulterous liaison with an aristocrat who was good friends with Zarzuela.

Although it is an old tale, it is not a secret to many journalists, including Pilar Eyre, who has been retelling it in recent years without disclosing the identity of its main character. That, however, did not last long because Alejandra’s name was revealed in the previously published book.

The relationship between the monarch, who was then around 30 years old, and an aristocrat older than him, whom he met when they were both young, resulted in Alejandra being of a similar age to King Philip, born in the late 1970s or early 1980s: “They shared friends and passion for hunting,” according to the book.

Three significant sources that put the previous head of state under scrutiny were used by the book’s authors to vouch for Alejandra’s existence. a former boyfriend of Alejandra, to whom she also acknowledged her connection to the royal family, a “businessman who has been Juan Carlos I’s friend for decades and has shared a friendship for six decades,” and a “admirer of the King Emeritus to whom he confessed the paternity of the young woman.”
