After a wait of more than 70 years to ascend to the throne, Prince Charles of Wales will be crowned King Charles III of the United Kingdom due to the passing of his mother and predecessor, Queen Elizabeth II. Charles’s son, William, is now the new Prince William of Wales, and although it would be believed that father and son have a good relationship, the reality is different, according to local media and historians.
Royal historian Robert Lacey made a post where he made revelations about Camilla Parker and some members of the royal family. In one of the texts, he revealed that Camilla Parker thought that Prince William was a person with “a short fuse” and had a strong and explosive temper.
From this revelation, rumors about Prince William’s attacks and anger issues began to spread through the British press. Among the multiple narratives about William, there was one that stood out above the rest, a narrative that claimed that the prince got angry with his father very often, King Charles.
Due to the tumultuous childhood that the prince had, surrounded by the infidelity scandals of his father and the depression of his mother, Princess Diana, which ended with the princess’s death in the late 90s, the prince had to face a quite lonely life, and he was committed to his training to one day inherit the throne of England.
During the more than 20 years in which William has been preparing to be king, the prince developed an image of what he considered would be a good king, a suitable king, necessary for the United Kingdom, the problem comes when his father inherited the throne. Due to his compliant temperament and lack of authority, Prince William often gets angry with his father since he does not represent the image that William idealized of a good king.
These differences between father and son have caused problems for both, but have not been trouble enough to distance them from each other, which was the case for the prince Harry.
What do you think of William’s position against his father?
