Shakira delighted her social media fans by announcing that she would be named “Woman of the Year” by the esteemed American publication Billboard. In Miami, Florida, where the Colombian singer presently resides, the concert will happen on May 6.

The singer-songwriter will be honored at a luxurious event where other leaders in the global music industry will also be honoured, according to a press release from Billboard magazine.
