Suga of BTS has released his first official solo album, “D-Day,” under the stage name for his individual projects, Agust D, according to his representative agency, BigHit Music. At the same time as the album, the music video for its title track, “Haegeum,” was also unveiled.
If his unofficial “mixtapes” are included, “D-Day” marks Suga’s first solo project in three years since “D-2” in 2020. The album marks the final installment of the “Agust D” trilogy, which began with his “Agust D” mixtapes “Agust D” in 2016 and “D-2” in 2020.
The new album consists of ten tracks, including “Haegeum”, the pre-released song “People Pt. 2 ft. IU“, “D-Day”, “Huh?! ft. J-Hope“, “Amygdala”, “SDL”, “Interlude: Dawn” and “Snooze ft. Ryuichi Sakamoto & Kim Woo-sung of The Rose.”
.
Among these ten is also “Life Goes On,” in which Suga reinterprets, according to his own sensibility, the group’s hit song of the same name, BigHit Music said. The album carries the message of prioritizing “me” and “now” in an age where there is an overwhelming amount of fast and extensive information.
Suga wrote and composed all the songs on the album and took charge of the entire production process, to share his personal story in a sincere way. The music video for “Haegeum” features a well-woven storyline and dramatic elements, which stand out in an overall atmosphere reminiscent of a Chinese action movie.
Suga is scheduled to kick off his first solo world tour, titled “Suga | Agust D-Day Tour” next week at San Diego’s Belmont Park, and will continue on to other American cities before heading to Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea and Japan.
