After the tragic death of Queen Elizabeth II of England on September 9th, 2022, her eldest son, Charles III, will take the throne of the world’s most important monarchy and will be officially crowned in a ceremony on May 6th.
The coronation ceremony of the new king has been plagued with controversies since its planning. When the date of the coronation was announced, the English public criticized the new king’s eagerness to be crowned despite his immense unpopularity, and anti-monarchist groups in the United Kingdom also spoke out against it, criticizing the enormous expenses of the coronation.
The latest scandal surrounding the coronation has to do with the guest list. Specifically, there is much talk about the attendance or non-attendance of King Charles III’s younger son, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, due to the multiple accusations they have made against the royal family and the strong distance that started between Harry, Meghan, and the rest of the royal members.
The newest reports confirmed Prince Harry’s attendance at the coronation, along with his older son, but did not confirm Meghan’s attendance. These reports were based on the official guest list of the ceremony.
Nonetheless, internet users believe that it does not seem that King Charles III is happy with his son’s presence at the ceremony and would not want them at the most important day of his life. This is evidenced by his support of his wife, Camilla Parker, whom Prince Harry accused of being a vile person in his book “Spare,” and whom Meghan accused of harassing them and making her life miserable.
What do you think? Does Charles despise his son and daughter-in-law by supporting his wife, Camilla?
