Shakira, a Colombian singer who is 46 years old, and Gerard Piqué, a former defender for FC Barcelona, announced their breakup in June of 2022. The news caused widespread controversy, and it is not for lack of reason given that the couple had been married for more than ten years and had two children.
According to recent reports in the national media, Shakira may have turned to professional prescription drug use following the breakup with her ex-husband. This would not come as a surprise to anyone because the couple’s nearly 12-year marriage, which included two children in the interim, was destroyed by infidelity.
Shakira has acknowledged on multiple occasions how much the breakup of her relationship has hurt her; nonetheless, the singer has proved that her children are her top priority by devoting all of her attention to them and seeking professional therapy for her anxiety and agony.
“Since the breakup became known, the Colombian has been in psychological treatment to combat stress and anxiety. She could not understand how the father of her children left her for a much younger woman and broke up a family”, revealed the Spanish entertainment media.
The Colombian singer is now emotionally stable, and she has used her most recent songs to express her anger and helplessness at having to deal with this circumstance.
