Meghan Markle reportedly does not want to attend King Charles III’s coronation because she does not want to pay homage to her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.
The British royal family has been at the center of several controversies after Queen Elizabeth II’s death and Prince Harry’s declarations against them. It looks like the situation is not improving and things will get worse as the coronation ceremony approaches.
King Charles III and Camilla Parker’s coronation is going to take place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey. It is expected that almost 2000 people are going to attend. However, it was rumored that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would not attend the historic ceremony.
Earlier this week, Prince Harry’s attendance was confirmed but it was reported that he will go without Meghan Markle. it is being said that the reason she won’t attend is that she wants to stay in California with her two children. On the other hand, some people think that King Charles III wanted to avoid her because she brings negative press to the royal family and he wants to stop all the controversies.
It was also reported that the rivalry between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton increased in the last couple of months because she does not want to pay homage to Kate. “She would not have felt comfortable missing his eldest son’s birthday in favor of an event that would require him to curtsy not only to his father-in-law and wife but also to his brother-in-law and his wife.”
The controversies between the two ladies were the main reason for Meghan’s decision to stay in the United States with her children instead of attending a ceremony where she is not welcomed.
