BLACKPINK’s Rosé was recently caught up in a malicious rumor about allegations of drug use. YG Entertainment has responded to these rumors and has decided to intervene to the “ridiculous” allegations.
This April 11, former Burberry creative director Riccardo Tisci shared photos via social media of a social gathering, where Rosé can be seen spending time with others at what appears to be a luxurious mansion owned by fashion designer and entrepreneur Eva Chow.
In the photo, fans spotted BLACKPINK’s Rosé and actor Kang Dong Won among the people involved. When the photo went viral on the Internet, some of the fans claimed to have seen evidence of drugs on the table, including a white powder.
.
Following the publication of the photos and rumors of narcotics use, Riccardo immediately deleted the post. The Blinks found proof that the accusations were totally false, and a fan account of BLACKPINK, shared that they had sent an email to YG Entertainment demanding legal action for defaming one of their idols.
2 days after the whole controversial case happened, YG Entertainment responded to the accusations with an official statement explaining that the rumors spread on social media were false. In the statement, the company revealed its stance on the rumors and that it would take a firm hand in the matter.
“We are taking legal action against those who violate the rights and privacy of our artists. We are keeping an eye on those who have created and spread rumors. We will not settle and will respond firmly” – YG Entertainment.
