Dior under fire for racist acts against BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, BTS’ Jimin and its Asian ambassadors

The designer brand DIOR, receives a huge amount of criticism for publishing a photo that was considered racist and offensive to Asians, the brand currently has many Asian ambassadors, and so far it has not been mentioned about it. DIOR is one of the biggest brands in the world, and there are many Korean stars representing the brand, such as BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, BTS’ Jimin, actor Nam Joo Hyuk and others.

Recently, the brand has come under fire after releasing a photo that was considered racist. In the photo set, the brand posted images of an Asian model showing off the brand’s latest collection.

However, the latest photo drew attention because it showed the model striking a pose in which she used two fingers to tear her eyes. After the post was shared, a TikTok user dedicated a video to the controversial publication of the prestigious clothing and accessories brand DIOR. The video went viral in a matter of hours and attracted more than one million views and more than a hundred thousand likes.

In the video, the user can be seen asking her viewers if they thought the publication was racist, showing the pose of the Asian model putting her fingers around her eyes and stretching them, a gesture associated with Westerners to mock Asians.

In the comments, netizens shared their own take on the photos, explaining how the brand was apparently using Asian models as “aesthetic” figures. Another comment pointed out that there are limits, considering the large number of Asian ambassadors the brand has, particularly “Miss Korea,” Jisoo.

After seeing the reaction from KPOP fans and followers, DIOR removed the photo from their account, although the photo was deleted, the comments were still visible, and the fandom could not hide their anger. Many even pointed out that it was not the first time DIOR did something that showed discrimination towards Asians.

So far DIOR, has not commented on the matter, and has only removed from social networks the controversial photograph, it is expected that the prestigious brand is mentioned and explanations of what really happened.
