Billboard has become trending for a controversial scandal, which according to fans of the popular K-Pop music band, BTS, has disrespected and overlooked the talent of South Korean idol Jimin.

Jimin of BTS, went down in history as the first Korean solo artist to reach #1 on the Billboard charts. However, the ARMY has shown his anger through social media, trending different phrases such as, “Billboard Corrupt” and “Billboard Racist.”

This with the intention of calling the attention of the prestigious Billboard magazine, so that it pronounces itself on the matter, since the fans, assure that they have committed a serious case of corruption with Jimin.

The numbers don’t add up,” is what several pundits and BTS fans expressed upon learning of the charts released by Billboard after the first week of Jimin’s smash hit debut as a solo artist.

On April 11, for many, Jimin’s recent sales figures looked suspicious after a big difference in the numbers became evident. According to one website, the song was supposed to have sold just over 120,000 units.

.

But Forbes (the source of sales information for Billboard’s music charts) published extremely low figures, saying they sold less than 15,000 units. Predictably, ARMY began to wonder, where have the other 100,000 units gone?

After dominating the Billboard charts in its first week of release, fans found it strange that “Like Crazy” didn’t even enter the top 10 in its second week. But it did remain consistently among the top spots on the other global charts.

The ARMY noticed soon after that Billboard had changed the rules of their top and artist charts, which drew the ire of the fandom, was that this happened just as Jimin released his solo album. Billboard had previously reportedly implemented changes to the sales rankings for mass purchases, where they focused on the first 7 days of the first week and not the total.

When this information was revealed, the ARMYs showed their great anger on social media, pointing out Billboard as usurper, racist and corrupt. And they have accused Billboard of changing the rules without prior notice to affect the success of BTS and its members.
