The marriage between the king Felipe VI and the Queen Letizia of Spain would have a divorce date already, as it turns out, a journalist revealed the details about the agreement that the queen consort made the monarch sign in the future when the moment comes. The main purpose of the agreement is for her to not end up broke and in state of homelessness.
On the last week, we learned that the king and queen of Spain are experiencing a marital crisis, product of the conflict that their two daughters will have because of their future positions: the princess Leonor and the Infant Sofía.
Letizia does not want her older daughter, Leonor, heir to the throne, to serve the army for three years as dictated by the protocols. Felipe VI, however, is on board with the idea of the future Queen having a fully militarized education just like he had, and this difference has caused the discontent of the Queen Letizia, who would prefer none of her daughters to have to go through that education.
Pilar Eyre, through her blog “Lectures”, was the one who revealed the details about this disagreement. However, what caught the attention of the public the most was the agreement about the divorce that the two monarchs made a long time ago.
As told by the reporter, Letizia’s lawyer made Felipe VI sign a pre-marital agreements in case of a future divorce. The terms are, of course, in favor of the Queen Consort.
In the pitiful case of an eventual split, Letizia would take the luxurious properties, and they have two: one for the summer and one for the winter, with the private employees as well. Also, the queen consort would receive a great amount of money to support her expenses, monthly, until her passing, to which Felipe agreed to sign, assuming he was never going to divorce from Letizia.
