J Balvin announces his retirement from music

Colombian reggaeton singer J Balvin has reaffirmed that his absence in music and social networks will be prolonged. The Latin star remains firm in his stance that he is currently retired from his professional career, as he is focused on his family.

J Balvin has saddened his fans, since through the interview he had with Billboard magazine a few weeks ago, he confirmed to the public that he will not be releasing music for a long time, since his priority right now is his family.

“Really right now I’ve been focusing on my family. I left the networks; I’m connected to my reality, to my family, and that has taught me a lot, to live more in the present. Obviously I miss my fans and their comments, but for the moment we are going back“, he said exclusively to Billboard magazine.

He is also in a relationship with Argentinean model Valentina Ferrer, who more than a year ago welcomed their first child, Rio.

Both Balvin and his wife have attended social events, such as the birthday of former NBA player Michael Jordan, where he sang live for the attendees. However, the artist refuses to make appearances in music programs and events, as that is not his plan at the moment.

“I’ve been making music to have a good time as always. I still don’t have a concept, I don’t have an album to make. But it’s because I want to have a clear, different and fresh concept. Possibly these days the muse comes and the concept comes to me and from there an album is born. It could be this year, it could be next year“, he added.

In this way, the Colombian singer let his followers know that they will have to wait some more time to enjoy his new music. And for the moment, it will not be this year.
