Jimin of BTS debuted at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 chart with “Like Crazy”, the title track of his solo album called “Face”. The idol became the first South Korean artist to occupy the top spot on the United States chart.
This is Jimin’s first time to reach the top of the ‘Hot 100′ list individually. Previously, he scored six No. 1 hits as a member of BTS. The MV of “Like Crazy” was released last March 23 and currently totals over 32 million views and over 2.8 million likes.
Despite the time difference, Jimin communicated with his fans through Weverse. “ARMYs, it’s Jimin. ah… it doesn’t feel real, so I don’t know what or how to express my thoughts… u-uh………………” he wrote.
His fellow members, Suga, J-hope and RM also expressed their joy for Jimin’s achievement:
RM: “I am proud.”
J-Hope: “Jimin-ah, you’re great and I’m so proud of you…I’m crying…you worked hard, congratulations so much!”
Suga: “Yes, Park Jimin, No. 1 singer on Billboard HOT 100 you are great, please be my concert guest ddangddangddddddang.”
.
According to reports, the track debuted with over 300 points, having a total of 234 thousand digital sales and almost 10 million streaming, giving a total of 299.4 units. What was more surprising is that the track did not receive radio support despite the efforts of fans, yet it still achieved this great milestone.
Jimin's "Like Crazy" officially debuts at No. 1 on this week's #Hot100.
It earns him his first career solo No. 1 hit on the chart. He previously scored six No. 1 hits as a member of @BTS_twt.
