According to information from the local authorities, American actor Jonathan Majors was detained this past Saturday, March 25, in New York on suspicion of alleged assault, harassment, and strangulation.
Authorities claimed that the 30-year-old woman and the star of recent movies like “Creed III” and Marvel “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” were engaged in a domestic fight.
“At approximately 11:14 a.m., police responded to a 911 call inside an apartment. A preliminary investigation determined that a 33-year-old man was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman,” they communicated.
According to the police report revealed “The victim reported to police that she was assaulted. Officers took the 33-year-old man into custody without incident. The victim suffered minor head and neck injuries and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.”
A spokesperson for the actor sent a note to the Variety portal after his arrest, refuting the accusations:
“He has done nothing wrong. We hope to clear his name and clear this up,” the spokesman said.
Some American media have reported that the allegedly assaulted lady is the actor’s girlfriend, but this has not been confirmed. Despite the fact that the police believed they had enough proof to convict the Marvel star, Jonathan Majors, he was soon released from prison.
What is certain is that this has jeopardized his future at Marvel, where he currently portrays Kang, the great antagonist of this superhero universe’s fifth phase. It is unclear how the situation will be resolved at this time.
