Reese Witherspoon announces divorce after 12 years of marriage

The American actress best known for her starring role in Legally Blonde, Reese Witherspoon has announced her divorce with Jim Toth through her social networks. What caught the attention of the audience was that they were two days away from their 12 year anniversary.

People quickly reacted as it is a very similar case to Pique with Shakira, who also had 12 years together.

Recently, Reese Witherspoon turned 47 and asked on networks to please respect her privacy and especially the life of her 10-year-old son.

The couple met at a party about 13 years ago in a secret relationship that quickly came to light going for a walk the whole family and making public that they would have a life together and formal. Recall that the actress had been in a relationship with Ryan Phillippe, to whom she was married from 1999 to 2007.

“We have personal news to share,” begins the statement published by the actress and signed by the now ex-couple. “With love and consideration, we announce the difficult decision to divorce. We enjoyed many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, empathy and mutual respect for all that we have created.”

“Our priority is our son and our family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate the respect for our family’s privacy at this time,” the statement ended.
