Gerard Piqué has finally spoken openly about the constant disses from her ex-partner Shakira. The Colombian singer has released several breakup anthems aimed at him and his new girlfriend, Clara Chía Martí. The former soccer player revealed he doesn’t care what the press thinks about him because he is focused on what he really wants.
The couple split up last year and shortly after the main reason why they ended their 10-year relationship was revealed. Piqué had extramarital affair with a 23-year-old young girl. This information immediately caused a stir on social media and people haven’t stopped talking about it since then.
In the last few months, Shakira released four songs in which she talks about the fallout of her relationship. The media and the general public have taken her side in this situation and showed support by attacking the former Barcelona F.C. Soccer player.
However, Piqué finally decided to break his silence and stated that he doesn’t care about what the media has written about him. This is what he said in an interview with El País:
People have a responsibility, especially those of us who are parents, to try to protect our children.
He also talked about his feelings and reflected on everything that has happened:
The day I die, I will look behind me and I hope to have done everything I wanted. I want to be true to myself. I’m not going to spend money on cleaning up my image.
It can be said that both stars are dealing with the situation in different ways but their relationship is irreparable and will likely never get along again.
