Miss Universe official sponsors are not happy with the public reception that the current winner, R’Bonney Gabriel, has had and have decided to stop supporting her to launch promotional campaigns with the runner-ups instead. The response to Gabriel has been so underwhelming that it is rumored that the American beauty queen might lose her crown and be replaced.
The tables turned just a few months after the pageant was held, Amanda Dudamel, Miss Venezuela and first runner-up, is getting more job opportunities from the sponsors of the organization. Recently, the 22-year-old beauty queen was featured in a promotional campaign in Times Square, New York. Something that not even the winner has done.
It is also being reported that the higher-ups inside the organization have given Dudamel complete control of the brand’s social media channels. This would be the first of many collaborations that aim to increase the popularity of the brand on an international level. The Venezuelan model’s appeal and international support are some of the few things they don’t want to miss.
On the other hand, the current title holder continues to be a total failure. During her most recent tour in Asia, Gabriel was totally ignored by the public and the local fashion and beauty brands.
