Kate Middleton is the people’s princess but she has not had it easy. According to recent reports, the Princess of Wales had to take a fertility test before marrying Prince William and being accepted into the family.
Kate and William got married in 2011 and since then, they have become the United Kingdom’s most beloved couple. However, it looks like their story was not always a fairy tale and she had to undergo several tests to prove that she was worthy of becoming a member of British royalty.
Just like it happened with the late Princess Diana, Middleton had to take a fertility test as part of the wedding preparations. The shocking revelation was made by author Tom Quinn in his book Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family:
These are always carried out to ensure a future queen is able to have children. If Kate had not been fertile, there is little doubt the marriage would have been off
He also revealed that Diana was not happy when the same was done to her and that she complained in a brief encounter with him that she thought her premarital check-ups had to do with general health, only realizing later on that she had actually been tested for fertility: “I was so innocent I just went along with everything at that stage.”
Kate Middleton currently has three children with Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
