BTS is currently on hiatus due to several of its members fulfilling their duty as South Korean citizens and enlisting in the military. However, it looks like the group will not reunite anytime soon according to the declarations of their management agency, HYBE.

During the last year, it was revealed that the members will finally have to begin their military service. This immediately raised concerns among BTS’ fans, the so-called ARMY, as the band has never stopped their musical activities up until that moment.

It was initially reported that the band would come together again in 2025 after every member had completed their military service but the future of the group is uncertain after the latest developments. According to Bang Si-Hyuk, founder of HYBE, plans might change:

We shared that both [HYBE] and the members hope to be able to resume [group activities] around 2025, not ‘they will resume’ in 2025. On that note, I hope you will not think of this as the target year. But [HYBE] and BTS will try our best.

He also added that the issue of the military is not something that gets resolved as planned and the company, the band, and their family need time to prepare for their return. Under those circumstances, it is difficult to continue with a “promised year.” But this is not just false hope as both parties have agreed to really actively do their best.
