In the midst of numerous controversies, the Miss Universe beauty contest is once again in the news. The most recent controversy surrounds the decision to select Asian couturier Tawn Chatchavalvong as the creator of the pageant’s new official clothing line rather than the current sovereign, R’Bonney Nola Gabriel, who is a qualified fashion designer.
The new collection designed by Tawn Chatchavalvong will shortly go on sale, according to Anne Jakrajutatip, the owner of the Miss Universe pageant.
A number of remarks were made on social media by pageant fans who were perplexed and surprised by the selection of the Asian designer and inquired as to why the current Miss Universe was not permitted to create the collection.
Anne Jakrajutatip forbade R’Bonney from using her designs and hired a substitute; she had previously expressed her wish to carry on working as a professional designer even as she carried out her responsibilities as the sovereign. It appears that the pageant owner obstructed her desire, so it appears that her request was not granted.
Since its inception, the beauty contest has been at the center of several controversies, and it appears that this trend will continue in the future. Fans of the pageant are still expressing their support for the current Miss Universe and hoping that she will don her creations in upcoming competitions.
