The most recent decision of the King Charles of giving his first born, prince William, a bigger house to live with his wife, Kate Middleton, has spawned a huge controversy and the anger of his second son, prince Harry, as well as Charles’ brother, prince Andrew.
Though it’s said that this decision was purely part of a strategy aimed at reducing the monarchy and giving a better use to the Buckingham Palace, most of the public did not take well the news of the new benefit that the king is giving to his older son in comparison to his younger son, the prince Harry.
The house that has been granted to the prince William and his wife is the same house that used to be inhabited by the late Queen Elizabeth II, which is located in the Windsor State, very close to where the prince and his family currently live. Their new house has around 30 bedrooms and a huge historic value.
On their part, the prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been evicted from the house that was granted to them by the queen Elizabeth, this is the breaking point of why the decision of giving William the bigger house caused a huge turmoil.
To Harry, his father’s decision of giving the bigger house to the older brother might feel like a punishment, as he has told before, he feels like he’s being alienated by his family and that he does not get the same treatment as the rest of the members of the royal family.
Also, the prince Andrew, Charles’ younger brother, has expressed his anger at the decision, since he still had the hope of being granted the house that has just been given to the prince and princess of Wales. However, there is no turn back and we can only expect the moment when they finally move to their new house.
King Charles’ preference towards some members of the crown has been discussed many times before, do you think that’s the case?
